Annalise turned 15 Months old on the last Monday. I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed since she was born. I don't have any new stats for her yet because her 15 month check up is next Tuesday. Two weeks ago we had her to the doctor for a fever and she was 22lbs which is what she was a 12 months which I was kinda shocked about because she feels like she has gotten heavier. They didn't do her height that day of course but I know that she has gotten taller because she has now officially outgrown all of her 12 months pants because they were too short! She has been up to sooooo much lately. Here are a few updates:
*I would have to say that the biggest change in her over the past month has been her vocabulary. Although she continues to be pretty shy when we are out and about at home she is a regular chatterbox! Yesterday Stan and I decided to try to compile a list of all the words that she says on her own without being prompted and we got up to 125 pretty quickly! She also knows quite a few more words than that too she just doesn't say them yet. For example, she knows what the word "caterpillar" is because if you tell her to go get it she will go get you her stuffed caterpillar. A lot of times I ask her to go get me something just to see if she knows what I am talking about and she usually does even though they are words she doesn't say yet.
*She knows the routines to a few songs and will sometimes do them with you. She LOVES listening to her CD of kids singing when we are going somewhere in the car.
*She is getting better with her puzzles. Especially the bug one since that is the one that I work with her on the most.
*She is starting to use a spoon to eat with. She is practicing and getting better each time. Meal times have been a little more messy though to say the least =).
*Speaking of spoons, she has a new obsession with them. If you even let her see one she wants it and is relentless about it. The other morning one of the first things she said to me was "Boon?" which is how she says spoon.
*She is becoming a dog trainer. She will tell Riley to sit and will tell her that she wants to pet her. She also says "Riley, NO BARK!" when Riley is barking in the yard. Anna also wags her finger at her when she is telling her not to bark.
*She has become interested in the toilet. She gets really excited whenever she sees one and yells "POT!!". Interestingly enough, she has occasionally started telling Stan and I when she is going to poop. She will come right up to one of us and say "Poop" and then do it. Once she does it she will not let it go until you change her diaper. She just keeps saying "Poop" "Stinky" over and over and over again. By no means at 15 months do I believe that she is ready for potty training but it does have me hopeful for the future.
*She still only has 6 teeth. She will chew and chew and chew on stuff and drool to the point that I think she is getting more but then nothing happens. So we will see on that one......
*She still sleeps like a champ. Hopefully when Stan and I decide to have another one the second baby will be so easy.
*She still loves books and has absolutely no interest in the TV. She doesn't really ever see us watch it though so I am not surprised. I have put on Baby Einsteins and various cartoons for her just to see what she would do and she will sometimes look for a few seconds and them goes off to find something else to do. I will take it while I can get it!
The list could go on and on but I will stop at that because I have a lot to do while she is napping! I will update on her stats after her appointment next week.

"Bonus Days" with Annalise
Annalise and I have had a few "Bonus Days" together lately! I have been able to get a lot of things done around the house in addition to getting in some extra play time with my favorite girl! Here are a few of Anna's activities during one of the snow days.
Playing with her Noah's Ark
Snack time with her SnackTrap
Perusing a few books
Pulling around her wagon with blocks.
I also spent quite a bit of time that day pulling her around the family room in her wagon.

Here is she actually sitting on my stomach and bouncing up and down. She LOVES to do this and has done it ever since she has been able to sit on her own really well. As she gets bigger though I have to say that I am not loving it so much.
More belly bouncing.

Waiting for Warmer Weather.....
With all the snowy, cold weather lately, I have really been longing for spring to come! Here are some of my favorites from last summer......
Late July '09 - Anna was 8 months old
One of my favorite things about the summer - rides in the Mustang.
This summer it will have to be in a Wrangler, right Em?
Ok, now I feel better just looking at the pictures.....PLEASE come soon spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another Funny Convo
Another conversation I had with a student yesterday:
Boy: Are we going to have a snow day tomorrow?
Me: I don't know, but I hope we DON'T.
Boy: Why??????
Me: I prefer to have a longer summer vacation and for each day we have off, we have to make it up at the end of the year. The end of the year is really hot and it is so uncomfortable to be at school.
Boy: (After thinking for a minute) That's OK, I'll just wear the smallest shorts I can find.
I'm really hoping he doesn't!!
I was actually really surprised yesterday at the number of students who didn't know that we have to make up the days at the end of the year!!!! There were a few that thought we get the days off free and in the clear! Don't I wish!

Bumbo Seat...An Oldie But A Goodie
Annalise still loves to drag out her Bumbo seat and sit in it to look at books. She also seems to like to sit in it to play with her Violet or Tad animals.
Climbing in
Anna somehow manages to get her leg out from this position to sit. Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough with the camera to get a picture of how she gets it unstuck.
Squeezing Violet's paw
Posing with her good friend Violet. She loves this dog.
I caught her later in the morning sitting back in seat looking at books.
Still looking not knowing I am taking her picture.
She looked up and caught me with the camera!!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Yesterday, Annalise had a good time opening her Valentine presents. As you will see, it was quite a long process to open three gifts because she took the time to throughly enjoy each one!
Anna with her Valentines
She decided to open the shiny box from Stan and I first
Carefully pulling on the bow
She decided to take it to Daddy for help (or "hup" as she says it)
Inside she found a Beanie Babies Valentine Giraffe (Anna's Daddy loves giraffes)
Next she selected the bag from Grammy
and started pulling out the tissue paper
but then decided she needed to take it to her Daddy for help
Anna pulled out a cute dress
and ran around the house with it.
Once tired of running, she sat down with it to investigate it closer...
and to roll around with it, of course. I mean, who doesn't roll around on the floor with new dress?
She then kept trying to put it on.
Anna finally picked up the last bag from Uncle Dave, Aunt Lisa and Jen
Here she is carrying it over to Stan.
Here she is carrying it over to Stan.
The ribbon was very cool. She spent awhile playing with it.
Then Anna thought she would take the tissue out of the bag and put the ribbon in it.
Of course once she had the tissue in hand....
...she decided to dance with it.
More tissue dancing.
Pooped out from dancing, so why not lay on it on the floor and swing our legs awhile?
Finally, she went back to the bag and pulled out this cute Valentine bear
and some bath books!
Annalise LOVES bath books so
she wanted them opened right away. Here she is handing them to Stan. It looks like the face she makes when she is saying "he" which is how she says the word here.

Dump, Dump, Dump!
Anna's vocabulary has really taken off in the past few weeks. There are many words that she says on her own, many more that she at least knows what they are (if you ask her where things are in books etc, she points) and will try to repeat MUCH of what Stan and I say. Today though she was playing with her Leapfrog Violet dog that sings songs and spells her name and does a variety of things. One of the songs goes "Jump! Jump! Jump!" and Anna looked up and me and said "Dump! Dump! Dump!". I laughed, so she kept saying it!

Recipes
I have tried a BUNCH of new recipes lately and I hope to get some time soon to post them. I know that I like it when I get recipe ideas from other blogs so I am going to try to return the favor! Stay tuned....hopefully =)
Happy Birthday, Samantha!
Last Saturday we went to Annalise's cousin, Samantha's birthday party. Anna had a good time playing with her cousins and had REAL birthday cake for the first time! She liked it and ate it but she wasn't that enthusiastic about it really. She was much more into her bananas! Two weeks before that was our niece Jen's birthday party. We unfortunately forgot our camera for that one! Anna also had a good time at that party, too. She had her first ice cream at that party. Again, she ate it but she really was not anymore into eating that than she was anything else.
