September 2011
I don't have any pictures of September 2011 at all. As everyone knows, that was when the Tropical Storm Lee occurred and the resulting aftermath in Bloomsburg. While I did have surface water damage in my finished basement and lost power for a few hours, I was very mindful of the devastation that others faced in the community. So I think that between the start of the school year and the clean up at my own house in regard to the water damage, I didn't have time for pictures!
Preschool 2011
Annalise started going to Wonder Years Preschool three days a week this school year. I would love to blog and say she loved it but unfortunately she wasn't a big fan of going. She did get better with it as the year went on though, the beginning was really rough. Her teachers assured me though that she did really well though throughout the day in all aspects. True to Annalise's personality though now that she is home for the summer she asks about going to preschool..........I will be sure to remind her of that when she is complaining about it at the start of next school year! Here she is on her first day last year. I have better pictures on my phone that I will have to add later.
Big Girl Bed 2011
Last summer Annalise first transitioned from her crib to a big girl bed. The transition went perfectly, she never had any problems with it at all. Probably because she was 2.5 and so ready to be out of her crib ;). Also, I made a big deal out of going shopping (which she still loves to do) to get things for her new bed and eventually her bedroom make over. Here are the pictures of her bed, when her room was still decorated with her nursery stuff. A few weeks later, we did over the spare bedroom and transitioned her to that room. I will have to take some pictures of that room and post it later, but here is her bed.
First night in her new bed. She was so excited!
Sound asleep!
Anna and I......and Riley Summer 2011
This picture cracks me up because of Riley peeking around us in the background! I don't know why I think it is so funny looking, but I do!
Dorney Park July 2011
Last summer we took a weekend trip to Dorney Park. We got two day passes for the park and figured to do one day at Dorney and one day at Wild Water Kingdom. The first day was sunny and hot and we went to Dorney figuring the next day we would do the water park. Well, I guess there is something to be said for checking the weather forecast because the next day it POURED! They even ended up closing the rides because it was raining soooooooooooooooo hard. I also remember I had a massive headache because I sometimes have a difficult time sleeping in hotels. So, it was a fun trip the first day and Annalise had a blast but the second day left a lot to be desired!
Annalise loved this show. Each time we walked past, if they were in the middle of a show she had to sit and watch! I think we saw bits and pieces of it at least 5 or 6 times!
Anna begged to have her picture taken with Linus for some reason. Although when it was her turn she got all shy. Not quite sure why she has her hands shoved in her mouth though.
July of 2011
Looking back through the pictures from my one year blog hiatus, I found some from a neat Children's Museum that Annalise and I went to. We stumbled upon it while on a shopping trip in Scranton. The Children's Museum was rather small and actually while I think about it, it was located inside the Steamtown Mall. Even though it was on the small side I remember that Anna really enjoyed playing there, especially the little market/cash register set up that they had.

Oh, Anna!
Annalise has said a few funny things this past week that I wanted to record so I don't forget. I think on Friday's I am going to try to list a few funny things each week. I find that unfortunately I forget way too fast the things she says. I often go to re-tell a story and cannot remember specifically what it entailed just the fact that I found it funny. Anyway.....
**Since Anna has really light blonde hair I really have to keep after it in the summer because the pool very easily turns it green. Regardless of my efforts though it has turned slightly green each summer because she basically lives in our pool. So anyway we were swimming and I reminded her that when we got out we needed to go right to the shower to wash out her hair (which she hates). Even though she knows why, she was stalling and said kept asking a million questions. She asked why it turns green and I explained it. She then responded "No, that's not why it turns green! It turns green because there is a green noodle in the pool!". Yup, that must be it. Problem solved.
**While driving down the road she was doing different things and asking me I could do them too. For example she would click her tongue and ask me if I could. I would say yes, do the action and then ask her if she could do something or other. This continued for a while and then I whistled and asked her if she could (knowing she couldn't). She was quiet for a minute then belts out "Nope. I can't. But thanks for askin'!"
**While at Wal-Mart we ran into a best buddy of hers from pre-school named Logan. Long story short Logan moved in the early spring and switched pre-schools. When he moved his mom left a note in Anna's cubby with their phone number to keep in touch because Logan just adores Anna. Seriously, their teacher told me Anna was the only child Logan would talk to and play with and that he would just follow her around. Unfortunately, I lost the misplaced the number so that was that. Anna would mention Logan every now and again and I would tell her that she would see him again even though I didn't know how at that point. So fast forward to recently we saw Logan and his family at Wal-Mart and we exchanged numbers (Logan and Anna were so cute together). After we left she kept asking and asking when she could see him again to play. I told her that since we had their number now that I could call and we would set something up. She looks at me all seriously and said "Mama, I'm a big girl. If you want to call his mom OK, but I will call Logan myself thanks." First of all, thanks for the permission to call his mom but no, Anna, you may not call boys and set up dates at the age of 3. Sorry.
**This was was relayed to me by my mom. For whatever reason they were talking about the dentist. My mom asked Anna something about what a dentist does. Anna told her that he "cleans your mouth." My mom asked her why. To this Anna replied "Well to get the barnacles off of your teeth!" My mom thought it was really funny because she had no idea where she got that from. Anna has a spongebob book where he goes to the dentist and they in they talk in the book about cleaning barnacles off the sea creatures' teeth in the book. So, Anna carried that to real life and thinks that is why humans go to the dentist!
**The other day she went to lay down for a nap. I thought she was asleep so I went outside to get in the pool to relax. A short (very short) while later Anna comes outside with her swim suit on and said "Oh mama! I was fast asleep and then I waked (woke) up and just had the best idea! I should go swimming!". And there went my relaxation.
**Anna is very much into Scooby Doo these days. It is like the new Toy Story craze for her. Long story short...... my 14 year old Siamese cat was missing and she and I were combing the neighborhood searching for him one night. I was upset about it but I didn't want Anna to be upset so while I wanted to bawl about it I just made light of the situation to her. As we were walking around shaking treats and calling for him Anna quickly turned it into a Scooby Doo mystery. She told me she was Daphne and I was Velma. Every small thing she would see she would get down close to it and day "I think I found a clue Mama!". Just so you know, we found my cat. Turns out he took a little two day vacay to the neighbors house.....like I said....long story. As for the cat, he was informed that I don't care how old he is, he is not permitted to take his own vacations.
**When Anna is tired she easily cries about things that don't make any sense at all. One night she was crying because she was tired. I asked her why she was crying and she responded between sobs "because I don't know enough about being a princess". Actually though, I beg to differ. I my opinion Miss Annalise knows quite a lot about being a princess. She is fairly certain she is one and will announce this frequently. I tell her that's fine she can be the princess but to just remember that her Mama is the queen =).
I can't really think of anything else at the moment although I am sure there is more. This girl has an explanation for everything.....and if she doesn't know she makes one up pretty quickly!
