15 Month Check Up

Annalise had her 15 month (well actually 15 1/2 month) check up yesterday. I was hoping that we were going to avoid shots, but we were not that lucky. She got her chicken pox and measles, mumps and rubella shots. She did really well with them though and only cried when they stuck her and stopped immediately when I picked her up when they were done. Overall, she continues to be a long, strong, healthy little girl! The doctor was very impressed with her vocabulary at this age. She was also impressed with the fact that she will occasionally come to us and tell us when she is going to go to the bathroom. I was actually impressed that Annalise talked in front of her because she usually does not talk too much in front of people she doesn't know well. Anyway, here are her 15 months stats: 24 lbs 4 oz (76th %ile) and is still very tall at 34 in (98th %ile)! I asked the doctor about her lack of teeth (she still has the same 6 that she has had for months) and she just said that some kids are just late teethers that there is nothing to worry about. She did say that her gums are still red and swollen (they were the last time we were there too), so she believes that she should be getting some soon. She said that she will probably be one of those kids that gets them close to the same time. Actually, I have kind of preferred it this way because we didn't really have too much of the crankiness that goes along with teething at an early age. Anyway, as usual, I left the appointment feeling so blessed and fortunate to have this healthy little girl!
