Cooler Weather......

...means baking!!  Yesterday with the temperature drop and the nice cool breeze I was in the mood to bake something.  Since I need to go grocery shopping anything creative I thought of I was missing an ingredient or two so I ended up making chocolate chip cookies because it was the only thing that I actually had everything I needed.  Not too exciting but it appeased my baking bug for the day and they sure they made the house smell good!  I know everyone has their own favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe but I just thought I would share mine.

Hershey's Great American Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups all purpose-flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups Hershey's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (I always use the Milk Chocolate instead of Semi-Sweet)
1 cup of chopped nuts

1.  Heat oven to 375 degrees
2.  Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large mixer bowl until creamy.  Add eggs; beat well. 
3.  Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating well.
4.  Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
5.  Drop dough by rounded teaspoons (I always do bigger ones because we like bigger cookies) onto greased cookie sheet.
6.  Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until lightly browned.  Cool slightly, remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.  Cool completely.
