New York City

Between Christmas and New Years my friend Emily and I took a train from New Jersey into New York City for the day for some sight seeing and shopping.  In the words of Em "It was a great day until we almost DIED!".  It is a long story that involved a plastic horn, the Macerena (I don't know how to spell that),  an insane possibly intoxicated taxi driver named Pedro who was screaming R rated phrases from the taxi.  It is one of those "you had to be there" kind of stories but it was HYSTERICAL (I am laughing out loud as I am typing this) and slightly frightening at the same time. Anyway, I barely took any pictures other than Home Alone related photos because Annalise loves those movies and other things I thought she might want to see.  It was a great day!

The skating rink in Central Park that was in Home Alone 2
We went two or so days before New Year's Eve and they were actually testing the ball.  We watched them move it up and down a few times and test the lights.  It was neat.  They were also already setting things up for the New Year's celebration.

Christmas Candy Lane 2011

A few days after Christmas we went to Christmas Candy Lane in Hershey.  It was an enjoyable evening and was not unbearably cold like it has been some years.

Made entirely of Hershey's candy!!!!

Christmas 2011

Anna was still in the midst of her Toy Story obsession at Christmte as time.  If you would ask her what Santa was going to bring her for Christmas she would very quickly respond "woodyandbuzzandbullseye".  Whenever I would prepare her for the possibility of not getting all three (since they were about 40 dollars a piece), she would quickly assure me that Santa in fact was going to bring all of them.  Well, lo and behold he held up on his end of the bargain and did in fact bring the whole round up gang.  Another gift that was a big hit was her Barbie Jeep.  She was so excited she climbed in, put it in reverse and backed into the Christmas tree.  This startled her and she tried to get out and somehow got her neck tangled in the seat strap and she started to scream............  She is still getting the hang of driving it.....for some reason the concept of steering it is not coming easily to her but she enjoys it all the same.  I will have to post a video of her driving it sometime because it is hysterical how bad she is at it!
Santa ate the cookies and drank the milk!
He really must have liked the cookies because he sure left a loot for Annalise!

I have no idea why she is making that face because it is a Jessie toy and she sure loves her!
Olivia the pig is also a favorite......
....as is these magnetic dolls that you can make all different outfits for.

My all time favorite tree ornament that Anna made at preschool.
We have since worked on her picture taking skills, LOL.
 Woody!!!!!!!
 The Round Up Gangve !

Notice Woody and Jessie strapped in too!

Cookies!!!!!!!!!

Would it really be the holidays without baking dozens and dozens of cookies?  Annalise and I made a bunch over the course of a few days.  She is a great helper in the kitchen....usually =)!  Sorry about the glare in these pictures.  The sun blazes into the kitchen window in the afternoon and I am so not camera savvy so I don't really know how to use the other settings that would have probably made the pictures better.
Anna's first job was to unwrap the Hershey's kisses.  She did so without eating many at all.  Had they been peanut butter cups, it would have been a different story.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Christmas Craft

As always the Christmas season passed ridiculously fast and we tried to do as many things as we possibly could. One thing that Anna enjoyed (and concentrated on) more than in the past was helping to put together items from a craft kit.

I guess I never took a picture of the finished product but they were door hangers that we hung on the closet doors in her bedroom.
